Sorry, I was to fast with my question, found the answer on this forum: Barb Bowman" wrote:

Now, if you have these types of files from certain major vendors in the library and open Windows Photo Gallery, you should get a prompt to download a "codec" from the manufacturer's site. The burden is now on Nikon, Canon, Olympus et al. If you run x64 Vista, there is zero support. |

What kind of camera do you have? Most of the vendors have now released the WIC codecs for Vista. Check this blog for a link to the codec that you need blogs.msdn.com/pix/default.aspx

AFAIK Olympus is the only vendor who has 64 bit Vista codecs. That was just released. All the others are 32 bit only. When I went through Nikon support, the answer was basically they will not be supporting 64 bit. On Thu, 10 May 2007 18:25:50 -0400, "Michael Price" wrote:

What a total joke, a 'pro' brand like Nikon not supporting an OS that supports the amounts of memory you can easily use when performing heavy volumes of image processing and editing.

I am hoping the other vendors take the Olympus move as a wake up call. "Jerodequin"
