I have a new Sony Viao laptop and it frequently gives the blue screen of death stating bad pool caller. I have never seen this before with XP so I am unfamiliar how to address this problem. It appears to happen if any settings are changed. Any suggestions where I begin?

Did your laptop come with Vista pre-installed, or did you upgrade with a DVD? Have you added hardware/drivers that weren't included when you bought the laptop (e.g., any new device that you plug into your computer)? Have you always had this problem, or did it start recently? What is the Model number of your computer (e.g., VGN-A690)? Write down what you see after "Stop:" on the blue screen, the next time this happens. Post back with this info, and hopefully someone can help you. "dkauf2002"
