I bought an alienware laptop a month or so ago and it came preloaded with vista home basic
up until a couple of days ago when the lid of the laptop was shut it would go to sleep but for some reason this no longer happens. The pc keeps running, the fan whirs all night and the battery eventually dies as it thinks the laptop is still in use. I have no peripherals such as mouse or any usb thingies attached and all fixes ive found relate to these kinds of things. None of the network things are set up to wake machine from sleep either. Im no longer technology savvie so I havent a clue what the finer details of this machine are. I went thro device manager and looked for upgraded drivers for everything but everything is up to date according to windows. No new software has been loaded. Anyone got any ideas how i can fix this in wording especially for idiots? |

Hi, Check for recently installed Windows Updates. One of them may be causing a problem for your machine.
