I got the blue screen of death last Friday and had to use "system recovery". I've been trying to get things back to normal since. I just got my newsgroups going and tried to save a ringtone that I posted to a group before Vista's amazing wonders were revealed to me. When I right click to save, the highlighted choices I get on the menu are "open, print, add... and remove. In Windows Mail, under tools/options/security, the box marked "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" is unchecked. Is there another setting somewhere that will fix this? It worked before. Or is this more of the insidious DRM that presented itself in a "Windows update".
