ran today paragon hard disk manager 8.5 on a live vista ultimate system, very easy to redistribute and merge partitions, no data was lost

Disk Director 10.0 build 2160 is 100% compatible with Vista. I have been using it since it was released. It is just that if you want to work with the system partition you do so by booting with the boot CD that you create after installing Disk Director.
