Hello, I'am having similar problems with my cam, I have downloaded the new release from micrsoft version 1.3. And uninstalled the 1.0 version that was on the disk that came with the cam. So I installed the new version and plugged in my cam and when I click to open it starts with no picture and then says connecting and then (Lifecam.exe has stopped working) A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. I have tried plugging in the cam before installing and I get the same thing. Please help

Try this...go to control panel then uninstall any programs associated with the camera. Next uninstall the drivers for the Camera and remove the camera's cord from it's USB slot. Restart your computer. Check MS website and download the latest drivers and software. Plug the camera into the usb port, when prompted use the new drivers to install the camera. That should do it. A good rule of thumb is to remove old drivers before installing new ones. "core9" wrote:

Hi ron I tried exactly what you discribed but I still get the same message. I did uninstall all the program and then the drivers and reinstalled the downlaod version 1.3 from microsft and still the same thing. I checked out a vista forum and they are all saying the drivers are avaiable. But if thats whats avaiable it 's not working for me.. I went right to the page that had the new software and downloaed it a couple of days ago and have tried many different ideas to get it to run with no luck. But the funny thing is when I open windows messanger and in the tools I click on web cam settings and it opens.... With picture but thats it.. I can adjust the settings but nothing more. I even tried to open the application file from the location folder and I still get the same mesage... "Ron K." wrote:

I had the same problem, when launching the camera application I would get the Lifecam.exe has stopped working message. If I remember correctly, it was a conflict with Nero 7. I would start there if you have Nero installed. After updating Nero with the latest updates, the problem was fixed. However, Nero wants to associate itself with a lot of your file extensions, and it caused the pictures and links in the Help & Support center to be replaced with red x's. When updating, I didn’t let Nero make any changes to file extensions. Sorry I can't give more details, this was months ago I had this problem and can't remember all the details. Slavin "core9" wrote:
