Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me with this, I know it's been answered a lot on this forum but I'm really lost as to what to do.
Basically I purchased a retail version of Home Premium on launch day, it installed fine and gave me no hassle. Since then, I've only reinstalled it on that same pc a second time, again with no issues. A few days ago, I got sick of Vista's quirkyness (random crashes etc) so I went back to XP, however it felt so wrong that I had to return to Vista. I thought this would be the perfect change to delete all my partitions and recreate them all from scratch, and then re-install Vista x32. It's installed fine, but in System Properties (Winkey+pause/break), it states I have 3 days until automatic activation. So I click on Activate Now, and I'm told that my key is in use? I tried the automated phone system, and went through the steps there but it also said my key was in use, and that I can only have it installed on one computer. Yet it is installed on one machine. I haven't a clue what to do. That automated number is useless and I can't even talk to a real person on it. I've tried re-entering my key but I get no where. This is just what I don't need right now :( |

Thanks mate. I got through to someone in India in less then 30secs, and she sorted the situation in less then a minute. I was quite surprised. She asked a few questions and then gave me a code, which activated Vista - and then explorer crashed at the same time it activated! Still, that was a very surprising experience. |
