I had an issue where my Vista install wouldn't activate due to a key issue. It then expired and went into reduced mode before I could resolve the issue. My Vista install is now activated and validated, but my start menu is still gone and all the settings I had before are gone... any ideas on how to recover my settings?

Yet more proof that MS' "anti piracy" programs do nothing to halt real piracy and only server to inconvenience paying customers.

A.) What "proof"? B.) He never said he paid for it. For all you know, "resolve" could translate to "stole at gunpoint". C.) If you don't like it, don't buy it? Where does this sense of entitlement come from? If you want it done right, do it yourself.

The install was an upgrade from XP and yes it is the original. I paid for it when I bought my new system and received an upgrade coupon.

He says, in a follow up post, that it's legit. I believe him. Do you want to run an WGA test on his computer to make sure that he isn't a low life lying thief?

Nice assumptions you make about people. Are you the WGA/SPP Public Relations man?

The fact that I am a paying customer isn't a good reason to feel entitled to use what I paid for with hard earned cash? Please explain.

Yeah, it's the customer's fault and they're probably a hobbyist thief, right?
