Please help, I just purchased a dell notebook with vista. Everything is great except I can't access my gmail account. It keeps bringing up security certificate error. Please help, anyone else experience the same problem?

Lowering your Internet Options Security setting should help. In IE, Tools, Internet Options, Security tab, Internet, set it to Medium High. If that doesn't solve it, go back to same tab, click on Custom and change the Net Framework setting"Run components not signed w Authenticode" to Enable. OK it. BTW, Dell Communities has a great user to user help site.

Booter, this just started happening to me as well and I was extremely frustrated until I realized it was right after I installed Symantec's Norton 360! If this is the case for you (or possibly a different "flavor" of Symantec Security), Go to Tools > Manage Add Ons > Enable or Disable Add Ons. From there, you can then click "Publisher" to group the Symantec Add On's together and then Disable them. Close and Restart IE and...I hope this does the trick. I was pretty happy when it worked for me! I'm going to post this on all the threads that seem to have this problem because it seems to be pretty widespread and I can't believe there's such a problem with Microsoft IE & Symantec working together.

Brandon, what is the good of paying big bucks for a virus protector and then having to shut down some of it cause it interferes to much. No just delete it all and go get a good protector Like Panda or MOD 32
