When ever I am on the computer, on any program a blank screen appears, I then have to go to task manager to end it. Could you please help on this matter, I don't know why this does this, and would like to fix it. swtpea2

What are you ending in Task Manager?
This almost sounds like the UAC prompts or, sometimes there are programs that are not compatible with Aero glass and will switch to the Vista basic GUI until that program is closed.
It could be a your video card. More details, please.

Hi Michael, It's swtpea2, when this problem happens I get a blank screen(white), I go to task manager, and click on the blank page, its in Windows internet Explorer, that's what in the box. This has happened when I was not on the internet too. Can you help? Thanks swtpea2

Hi Michael, My screen does not freeze in the program I am in, the screen changes to a blank white screen. It's then I have to go to task Manager and click on Blank page-Windows Internet Explorer. I could be on the internet or in Excel or word. I then close the blank page by ending the task, then I close task manager and go back to the program( last thing I was working on). I hope this helps. Still having this problem, didn't have this problem on my other computer with XP. Do you have any suggestions that might fix this problems. Thanks for your time. Swtpea2

I have the same problem. Internet Explorer fires off a blank page at start up. I just searched my msconfig startup group and registry and dont see anything there. I may need to look at IE7 settings closer....

Hi, It's Swtpea2, I emailed the manufacter(Acer) about this problem and this is what they told me to do: Go to internet Options, under the Privacy tab, there is a box that disable pop-ups.Click on the box, and then apply it. So far after doing that I haven't had the blank screen happen. Hopes it continues. Thanks everyone for your help. Swtpea2
