Ok, I have a wierd problem (or maybe it's not that weird).
On a server, let's call it \\myserver, I have 2 shares that I want to map to. \Share1 and \Share2
Vista lets me do this without complaining, and all works.
Now I logoff for the evening and log back on the next day. Low and behold, \Share1 doesn't get re-connected. After a bit of trying to force it to re-connect, vista tells me something about
"cannot map drives to the same server more than once"
WTH???

I'm assuming you checked the "re-connect" box. This is a bit of a stretch but could you have mapped the drives to letters that may also be used by some other USB devices (like a flash drive or card reader) that are connected/dis-connected during the day?

Yes, I checked the box for reconnect.
I picked drive letters WAY down the alphabet (V: and W:), so nothing else is trying to use them.
