I use a tri monitor system, with monitors in the order of 3 1 2 3 being on the left, 1 being the primary display. I am trying to span a wall paper across all three monitors, but it starts the wall paper on the primary monitor. So that the center of the picture is actually on the number 2 monitor, being on the right, and then the right side of the picture gets wrapped around to the number 3 monitor so it is on the left. I am wondering if there is a way to fix this. I can't reorder my monitors on my desk, and I don't know how to get the background to correctly span all 3 monitors without doing that. Is there some way to do that

You might want to give "UltraMon" a try. It's a pretty useful utility, works on Vista, and is reasonably priced.

yes I am familiar with Ultramon, but since I already have most of the functions of that, I'm not going to buy it just so my wallpapers look nice.

What if you changed to a tiled wallpaper?
I am thinking about adding a 3ed LCD. Any problems with AERO?
