The latest Nvidia video driver for Vista causes my mouse cursor to freeze if I am using Aero mouse cursor. Switching to a non Aero mouse cursor fixes it. My mouse is Logitech MX518 but I use the Microsoft mouse drivers built into Vista. Anyone else experince this issue?

Yes! Though I never thought it was related to the Nvidia drivers ( and I have had SEVERAL in the past 3 months!!!). I was using Logitech wireless optical mouse and keyboard....mouse would constantly freeze! There was at that time no current Logitech drivers for these hardwares ( still not ). I went out and purchased a new Microsoft optical mouse and keyboard (wired ) and installed the enclosed drivers (Intellipoint )....works great with Vista Ultimate. can't wait for the new Microsoft Ultimate Keyboard and Mouse....bet it will be worth the bucks! It seems like what you have works fine for you Mick. MSFT is making some nice HDW these days or partnering with some companies to make some nice hdwtheir mice, their cams, and a long list of things coming.
I was just stabbing at anything that might help this frozen mouse situation, and when all of us hear something like this, we usually point towards the driver although I could see how a video driver might impact this as well.

Doesn't it seem a little childish to say "If they won't play my way, I won't play at all." Why miss out on the superior Logitech drivers and software just to wait for "Microsoft to get off their asses and fix it."
And if you're concerned about "bloat-ware", put more memory in your machine, rather than grousing about a Logitech mouse not working as it should/would if the Logitech drivers were installed rather than the Microsoft drivers.
Since Microsoft does not write mouse drivers for Logitech mice, why do you expect Microsoft to "fix it"?
Microsoft writes mouse drivers for its own mice, not for others (even though most other mice will work with the generic Microsoft mouse drivers). But Microsoft is under no obligation to write device drivers for Logitech or anyone but themselves, for that matter.
"Bloat-ware" is a word being bandied about indiscriminately nowadays, and now means "any software which I can't use (but would like to) because my machine is too weak", rather than "programs which use too many Windows resources on useless tasks.", as it used to mean.
With advances in compiler technology and programming languages giving us better memory management, and larger memory capacities giving us programs with more options and abilities, the software we called "bloated" a few years ago now seems small and puny in comparison. Because of this, "bloated" should no longer be used when referencing software, in my opinion.
