Richard, you kindly posted a link the other day to download your program to enable me to embed fonts. Short of me having to buy a wig, I need further assistance please?
I followed the instructions, but nothing showed up as it should in the drafts folder, nor did it want to embed when I dragged it into the folder I had your program in and onto the program itself.
I put the filepatch and filename into the BGSOUND code snippet as advised and I am still fighting with it. Maybe this just doesn't want to work with Vista? I mean, I can SEE your embedded fonts perfectly, but maybe I just won't be able to do it this end?
Is there a way I can maybe manually code it instead of using the program. I'm wondering if it is a Vista conflict issue? *shrugs*
I'd already cleaned out the newsgroup folder so couldn't go back and take a peek at the coding and see if I could do it that way.
The other question I wanted to ask was, can I embed the eot with backgrounds and sigtags etc in place, or do they have to be dealt with differently?
Forgive me for asking so many questions, but I really want to be able to do this!!
Thanks in advance for any tips and pointers.

Tracey, sorry I didn't see your message sooner and someone just alerted me to it. Although I don't have Vista yet (just ordered it), I did have someone with Vista test the embedding program and it will definitely work in Vista.
If the EOTs don't display for you in drafts, then the program isn't going to embed them.
Try this:
Open this message from the old thread (full link): news://msnews.microsoft.com/%23NEP4BEhHHA.4032 TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl ....or if the above one doesn't work for you then set this server as your default newsserver and use the following link: and rich text forward the message, delete the forwarding message from the source and save the message to your drafts folder. In your drafts, it should look just like my message with all 3 EOTs displayed. Does that work for you?
Next, save the 3 EOTs from the post (opened from the link) and save them to some folder on your hard drive.
Next, open the message from drafts and replace the cid's in the 3 BGSOUND tags with the path/filename of the 3 EOTs in this order:
eot1: file:///E:/EOTs/SF_Foxboro_Script.eot eot2: file:///E:/EOTs/ChitownScript_Italic.eot eot3: file:///E:/EOTs/BulletBalls_AOE.eot
....and of course use the path to where you saved the EOTs to, and then save the message back to drafts.
You should be able to see the 3 EOTs fine although they won't be embedded. The EOTs should display the same whether they are embedded or not.
Please let me know if this works for you and I'll tell you how to do the rest.
About your other question, yes, you embed the EOTs in a message from your drafts with images, midi files and anything else that will embed normally already embedded.

Neither of the links worked for me Richard. I am going to finish plowing through these messages and then try resetting the group and see if that helps any.
I have saved this message though in case this gets lost amongst the thousands that I need to redownload!
Thanks for your help....off to read, then reset. See you on the flip side!

Tracey, if you set this server as your default, the second link should work for you.
I don't know what you have for the server name. Maybe this one will work: news://news.microsoft.com/%23NEP4BEhHHA.4032 TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl
If not, this one will IF you set this server as your default newsserver: news:%23NEP4BEhHHA.4032 TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl
