I just bought a laptop (secondhand) it is a Dell Inspiron e1505. The original OS was Vista Home Premium.
The HD is partitioned and drive D, consists only of a recovery restore utility - Dell Factory Image Restore. The instructions are to use F8 after boot and goto Windows Advanced Boot Options select the option "Repair My Computer". However I do not have that option. I can see the file on the D drive it is 4.21 GB and it is a WIM file. Is there a way I can restore without doing so through Windows Advanced Boot Options? Any help would be much appreciated! |

Dell uses a utility designed specifically for their computers and not really related to Windows Vista. Try the newsgroup alt.sys,pc-clone.dell Probably available on your ISPs news server. Or if there is warranty, contact Dell support. Jupiter Jones [MVP] www3.telus.net/dandemar dts-l.org "Tessiree"
