I upgraded to Vista Ultimate from XP SP2, the upgrade went fine, but either of my browsers can NOT resolve names via DNS. If I enter in enteries in the hosts file, the browsers see this. nslookup, ping, tracert and programs like AIM work fine (AIM logs in) I have tried everything and searched everywhere, I have seen similar issues where people have disabled IPv6 and resolved the problem, I tried this and it didn't do anything.
I don't have the ability to do a clean install at this point, and that is another story, so I need to get this fixed. Please Help!! Thanks, Chris Malatesta CEO - Candoit Solutions, Inc |

I have tried this, and switched to my ISP's DNS server from my SBS server, same thing, As I said, DNS works fine from nslookup and other places, but not from the browsers, IE or Firefox. I really need an answer to this if anyone know how the browser interacts with DNS lookups, I understand that svchost handles this, but not sure of the entire process or how to troubleshoot it... Thanks, Chris "Conor" wrote:
