Me being new to Vista. In my windows mail emails. I can't seem to use any of the hyperlinks in received messages(i.e replying to newsgroup messages etc). Is this supposed to happen? I read somewhere that it doesn't support hyperlinks in based email in received messages.
Is there a work around or do I just live with it? Any ideas would be welcomed Cheers Rich richardparlor btinternet.com |

Correctly-specified hyperlinks in received email should work fine, even if you are using Firefox as the default browser. Windows Mail seems to create some incorrectly-specified hyperlinks, as detailed in the thread "Can others confirm the empty pasted hyperlink problem?", but it seems that some users of Windows Mail are even able to get those to work, and the problem is only in HTML messages, not in plain text messages as one has in a newsgroup. Richard - can you check that the hyperlinks that you use are correctly specified. Right-click on the line listing an email message that is in HTML format, choose properties, click the Details tab, click Message Source, and look at the part of the HTML code specifying the hyperlink. Hi all, I have solved the problem. In the default programs section in control panel. I checked under "Associate a file type or protocol with a program" and checked what was set for the mailto: command. There wasn't any app associated with this. So I just set the association to windows mail and now works fine. Thanx "Richard Parlor"
