When setting up/using my Gmail/Windows Mail account, I get this error message:
" Account: 'Gamester2-Gmail', Server: 'pop.gmail.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR not supported 20pf1347199agd', Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18" I've double checked all of the settings and even tried different settings, nothing works. This problem only seems to exist in Windows Mail & Gmail as I've tried other email programs (outlook, thunder bird & incredimail) and they all work fine. Are there any work-arounds (besides using a different email programs)? |

"NewsReader2K"
is not a Win Mail problem. There is a very clear write up with screen shots on the G-Mail page (I am sure you have been there). Assume you have NOT got a tick under LOG ON USING SECURE PASSWORD AUTHENTICATION at the SERVERS Tab and that you DO have a tick in the MY SERVER REQUIRES AUTHENTICATION in the same screen? On that last one, the settings are just to "use the same as your Incoming Mail". Under the ADVANCED Tab 465 and 995 for the ports with ticks in the SECURE Boxes? Finally at the G-Mail page you have to activate that you are using POP3. And of course what ever Firewall you are using is not blocking those ports?? Frenchy |

That error means you have the "Log on using Secure Password Authentication" option checked. It shouldn't be. Gary VanderMolen "NewsReader2K"
