Evrything has been set up as required with all the correct information. When selecting send/recieve, the system asks for verification of the account log on and the password. this happens with all the accounts that have been entered.
I have also encountered the same problem in XP outlook on my other system.

If you have not changed any settings? Then check with your ISP about possible server problems at there end?

You're not giving us the whole story. Do you have "Remember password" checked? When you get the prompt and enter the requested information, does the mail check on the server succeed, or does it just keep asking for credentials over and over, as though you had entered an incorrect password? What antivirus program are you running? See oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3
