Could anyone tell me how to permanently disable subtitles in Vista's Media Center?
I have tried disabling them in the options (setting the subtitles to "off" and "on when muted"), this makes no difference. When I play a DVD I always get subtitles and it's driving me mad.

Did you install some third party subtitle filter/plug-in ... ? Do they show up in WMP... ?
Speaking for myself only. See zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

I installed the Vista Codec pack but I tried uninstalling this and it makes no difference. What I did do was a registry clean using "Vista Manager", this has also resulted in me getting a message asking for "Destinations.msi" everytime I start my PC, I guess I'll just have to re-install windows and never touch this program again. Just wondered if there was a registry key I could change to disable subtitles for good.

What is listed in WMP's Help:About:Technical Support Information menu tool? That may or may not indicate some further suspect as regards the subtitles that you can't turn off.
