I just upgraded from XP to Vista and now Media center just hangs when I try to use it to play a DVD. I can play the DVD using WMP 11 or Dell Media Direct, so it's not the video card. In general I'm getting a lot of error messages when using Media Center. I really liked using it with XP Media, but it's gone bonkers with Vista. Any ideas? Thanks

Have you tried getting the latest video drivers for your video card?

I'm afraid I have to ask how to do that. I'm not sure what my video card is.

If you press Start and start typing Performance Information and Tools, (it'll probably show up after the first few letters) then hit enter on it.
A window will open up with 'View and print details' on it. Click that and there will be a section called graphics, if you copy and paste those details into here I'll forward you in the right direction.
