Hi, i'm running Windows Vista Ultimate, and I can't save a movie with Movie Maker for the usual error that papajohn described accurately in his site: papajohn.org/MM2-Issues-CantSaveMovie.html My dll version is 11.0.6000.6324, and i've already tryed to re-register it: regsvr32 "%windir%\system32\qasf.dll" Saving a movie in DV-AVI file format is fine, and is also fine creating a wmv with Photo Story 3. What else I can try to resolve this problem? thanks. Ciao Federico

You say "I can't save a movie with Movie Maker" Then you say "Saving a movie in DV-AVI file format is fine" Can you expand on what the actual problem is? Can't you save to a wmv file format? If so which one? Can't save to a cd or a dvd? Graham Hughes MVP Digital Media myvideoproblems.com "federico"

Is that any location or any of the many wmv formats. Is there a reason you want wmv over the better quality dv-avi? If you save to dv-avi and then import this file into MM, can you then save it as a wmv? Can you import the windows supplied wmv on to your timneline and save that asa wmv with a different name? What file types are you using? Graham Hughes MVP Digital Media myvideoproblems.com "federico"

It is any location AND any wmv formats (tryed also to publish to email) I need to use wmv over dv-avi because of hard disk space. I made the tests you suggested: 1) saving to dv-avi, reimport and save in wmv: I get the error 2) import/export the windows sample wmv movie: I get the error It doesn't matter the type of the file I import: mpeg or avi, I get that error thanks for the help!! Is this a shop bought pc with Vista pre-installed or an upgrade that you have installed? What other software - video/audio related - do you have installed. The only other thing I can think of is someting is conflicting with MM, so if a shop bought pc a piece of software you have installed or if an upgrade it could be anything from non-compatible hardware to any of the pre-installed software.
